OSPO

Verifiable truth over narrative.

The Problem

American politics rewards money and narrative over record. Citizens have no single place to see what their representatives actually did, and weigh in with verified weight. Cable news, social feeds, and campaign ads drown out the underlying votes.

The on-ramp to office is also closed to anyone without significant wealth or party backing, which thins the pool of who can credibly run.

The Solution

Every decision a federal elected official makes is sourced to a primary government record. Every verified U.S. citizen gets exactly one vote per decision, approve or disapprove. Those votes roll into a single Aggregate Approval Score per official that nobody can manipulate.

Separately, ordinary citizens can apply to run for federal office through OSPO's candidate accelerator. We handle ads, marketing, and campaign direction at a scale most first-time candidates cannot reach on their own.

Three Loops, One Mission

1. Accountability: citizens cast verified votes on every sourced decision. Aggregate scores publish in real time.

2. Candidate Accelerator: non-wealthy citizens apply to run for federal office, sign a contract, pay a monthly subscription, and OSPO handles their campaign operations. Crowdfunded supplements from their own community are encouraged.

3. Election Event Polls: during every federal election cycle, OSPO publishes a polling page for each race. Verified citizens nationwide cast a poll vote. The aggregate becomes a single citizen-driven read on every race in America.

We Are 100% Party-Neutral

OSPO does not care which party a representative belongs to or which party a candidate runs for. We care whether the people they represent approve of how they vote, and whether ordinary citizens can credibly run.

Approval scores apply the same math to every officeholder. The candidate accelerator accepts qualified non-wealthy applicants regardless of party. The election event polls publish the same data fields for every race.

Where We Are

An early version of the site is live at opensourcepublicoffice.com with a working voting flow, secure citizen sign-in, and a small seed set of senators and high-profile Senate votes that prove the model end to end.

Build target: every sitting federal elected official, every recorded vote of the current term, ingested continuously from senate.gov, clerk.house.gov, and congress.gov. Seed data on the site today is placeholder pending verification against those primary sources.

Roadmap

Phase 1 (current): Senate seed set, end-to-end voting and scoring proven. Tier 1 and Tier 2 citizen verification live.

Phase 2 (2026): All 100 senators and all 435 House members, full current-term roll-call coverage from primary sources. Tier 3 verification with paid checkmark.

Phase 3 (Q2 2027): Candidate Accelerator opens. Citizens apply to run for federal office through their account. Election Event Polls launch alongside the 2027 election cycle.

Phase 4: Governors and other federal-level offices, plus executive actions filed in the Federal Register.

Why This Exists

Citizens cannot meaningfully audit what their representatives actually did, because the record is fragmented across senate.gov, clerk.house.gov, congress.gov, the Federal Register, and a wall of campaign noise on top.

At the same time, the cost of running for federal office now effectively requires personal wealth or major donor backing on day one. That filter narrows who reaches office to a small slice of the population that the people being governed do not look like.

OSPO fixes both at once: one verified citizen, one vote, on every decision, with a clear path to also funding, training, and amplifying credible non-wealthy candidates regardless of which party they choose to run with.

More Detail

Why now

Trust in elected officials is at a generational low. Identity-verification technology and primary-source data feeds are finally cheap enough to fix the accountability problem at scale.

Crowdfunded campaigning, digital ad targeting, and the rise of independent media mean a non-wealthy candidate with a clear record and a small dedicated community can now reach voters at meaningful scale, if someone handles the campaign infrastructure for them.

OSPO is built to do both: hold the office accountable, and unlock the path to office, in one operationally lean platform.

How OSPO funds itself

Tier 1 and Tier 2 citizen verification are free forever. Tier 3 (Verified Checkmark) is a small one-time fee, $3 to $5, paid by postcard or card. Those fees fund operations.

Donations to OSPO are tax-deductible (501(c)(3) status in formation) and fund voter-file acquisition state by state, postcard infrastructure for Tier 3 verification, and the Candidate Accelerator's launch costs.

Candidates accepted into the Accelerator pay a monthly subscription that covers a portion of their campaign operations. They are encouraged to pair OSPO's services with their own community-driven fundraising. OSPO does not cover 100% of any candidate's cost, by design: customers who pay attention pay attention.
